XIV Salón del Libro Infantil y Juvenil de Burgos

Design of the poster for the XIV Children’s and Youth Book Hall of Burgos, an event for the little ones where a medieval scenes are recreated and commemorating the VIII Centenary of the Cathedral with the title ‘1221: a medieval adventure’

On July 20, 1221 they placed the first stone, a very heavy block that was placed in its heart and that served as the foundation for the southwest pillar that today supports the dome. That same stone is also today the one that supports this poster composed of a stone woman who is reading, a woman who represents the Cathedral and its construction.

From that foundation block to the top of the spiers, the Cathedral has always been an inexhaustible source of inspiration for artists for centuries. As an artist from Burgos and a lover of my city, I wanted to pay her tribute by interpreting a small part of her to make it a bit mine, trying to enrich the little ones with visual reading.

The Hall is held from November 9 to January 30 at the Monastery of San Juan in Burgos.
